Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor headed to Noida on Saturday, January 9, to kickstart the shoot of their yet-untitled Luv Ranjan film. On Sunday, it was reported that filmmaker Boney Kapoor, who had recently made his acting debut in an Anil Kapoor-starrer, was all set to play Ranbir’s father in the film. Boney Kapoor recently made his acting debut in the movie AK vs AK and this would be his second one. According to a report in ETimes, Boney Kapoor refused the role at first but on the insistence of Luv Ranjan, he agreed.
The process of convincing him involved Arjun Kapoor, Janhavi Kapoor, Anshula and a lot more people. He’s said to be reporting on the sets on 11th of January to start the shooting.
‘Boney was their reference point. While the filmmaker had refused the offer, Luv persisted. He asked Arjun Kapoor to convince him and the actor promptly reached out to him, and also got Anshula, Janhvi, and Khushi to do the convincing. Eventually, Boney gave in,’ said the source, while speaking to ETimes.
Boney Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia will be seen playing the role of Ranbir Kapoor’s parents in the movie. The romantic comedy was supposed to kick-off with a schedule in Spain but given that the pandemic is far from over, the makers have started shooting in the country itself.
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor will also be seen in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, in which he will be collaborating with his ladylove Alia Bhatt for the first time. Brahmastra also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni.
