SSR Death Case: NCB Detains Sushant Singh Rajput’s Friend Rishikesh Pawar

The Narcotics Control Bureau for the past few months has been carrying out searches to look for late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s friend who had skipped the agency’s summons for questioning a day earlier in a drugs-related case, officials said. ‘We are looking for Sushant’s friend and Assistant Director Rishikesh Pawar who has been absconding since yesterday,’ a senior NCB official connected to probe told IANS.

The official said that the NCB had directed Pawar to appear for quizzing on Thursday but he skipped the summons.

Sushant was found dead at his Mumbai apartment on June 14, 2020. His father KK Singh filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty, her family members and others under various sections of the IPC including abetment to suicide. Three Central agencies including the Central Bureau of Investigation, the Enforcement Directorate and the Narcotics Control Bureau are probing his death case.

The NCB had arrested Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty in a drugs case linked to Sushant’s death case in September 2020. The Bombay High Court had granted bail to Rhea on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. She walked out of Byculla jail after staying behind the bars for close to one month.

Talking about Sushant, his last film ‘Dil Bechara’ premiered directly on Disney+ Hotstar. The romantic drama received a good response upon its release on the leading OTT platform. The movie co-starring Sanjana Sanghi is the official adaptation of John Green’s novel ‘The Fault In Our Stars’.
